Sciences Blackline Worksheets

Open-ended, phenomenon-agnostic masters for MYP Sciences. Each sheet is a thinking routine: you supply the phenomenon, data, text or design brief; students supply the reasoning.

These masters are built on the Year 1 criteria, the Year 2 baseline in this folder (the MYP rubric set covers Years 1, 3 and 5). The teacher map includes level-up prompts toward Year 3. Most masters print on two A4 pages; the A-criterion sheets are one page each. All work in black and white.

How to use a master

  1. 1. Pick the thinking moveChoose the criterion and strand you want to see evidence for, not the content topic.
  2. 2. Supply the contentPut the phenomenon, question, concepts and data or source in the task brief or on the board. The sheets are blank on purpose.
  3. 3. Print and teachPrint A4, 100%, black and white. A-criterion masters are one page; B and C masters are two. Enable background graphics for the C1 graph grid.
  4. 4. Read the evidence stripStudents tick the strands they have evidenced. Add your own feedback in the box. Collect over time; do not score every sheet.

Printing: open a sheet and use its Print this sheet button, or print from the browser. The worksheets are designed for A4 with 12 mm margins. Keep a blank master for next year. Next masters to build: C2 Results, Validity & Improvement and D1 Impact & Decision.
